I don't like Harper either. In fact, when he election results came out over CNN (which, unfortunately, was my main source of 'news' back when I had TV), I went on a kicking furniture "fuck fuck fuck" spree. Whereas I agree with you that Harper is an utter tool, I disagree that emails, such as the one I sent, don't make an impact. One email may not have an impact, but when a minority government, such as he one we have in power, receives emails en masse from the voting public, it does carry influence. The Harper government knows it can't do much without the support of other parties. Heck, they can't even pass motions in the House without a greater degree of consensus because they are so weak. The big worry would be that if they called another election and were able to achieve a majority. Then we'd be fucked. But I don't see that happening any time soon. Then again, I am very out of the loop so far as Canadian politics go at the moment. With the Nigerian elecions creeping up and so much political turmoil here, it's difficult to keep up to date on what's going on in Canada.
