PULSERAº - Lining Up

Oct 10, 2009 15:10

Some of you have been wondering as to what the heck happened to PULSERAº. Sure, our last gig was way back May, and we've been pretty much out of the scene since. Allow me a moment.

For the record, we have not disbanded. Several instances pertaining the members had contributed to another long hiatus.

Since changing our first lineup, we had been trying to fill in for the keys/synth spot. We initially got Macky Estrellado to take the bass position. Luckily for us, Macky is as adept in playing keys, that we decided to get Herman Docena as bassist. A Hong Kong vacation and canceled gigs later, we were still left tidying up our parts with the new members.

Come August, my wife gave birth to Avey, our second child. Familial duties came first and everyone and everything were put on hold. By the time I was ready to step back into my own band duties, Julius' availability just got a little bit more limited.

See, he and his family will be migrating to Brunei. Naturally, his priorities now is devoted to their migration preparations leaving another opening in the lineup.

Having had an unsuccessful attempt at referrals, I was able to find an able drummer in the person of Justin Magalzo through a local musician's forum.

Lo and behold, PULSERAº is once again complete. We've devoted the entire month of October for practice, so as to allow for tweaking and cohesion. (And so that Marc, who is from Provident, will be able to attend to important matters first and regain his old composure after the flood.) We'll be back by November with an updated sound.
