Ianto shuffled along the road, hands in his pockets and mind completely elsewhere. He had once again begun to slip out of the way of everyone, keeping mostly to himself and was alright with that, with save the exception of Jack, who he had been trying to figure things out with. To say that he was confused over the events of the past few weeks still didn't seem real.

Part of him wondered if this was some elaborate afterlife ordeal or he was just dreaming this all up. Neither seemed likely, but when had life ever made sense for him?

Regardless of his thoughts, he wasn't really paying too much attention, until a familiar face was there, walking across the way from him. The hair had changed, drastically even - but there was no mistaking John Hart. In fact the change made him that much more noticable. "The Twelve must really hate me, don't they?" he muttered, scrubbing a hand over his face.

"You know, if you wanted to change your appearance, you could've gone for a more subtle shade." A beat, then - "Does Jack know you're here?"

Spike stared at the man without recognition. But he did stop, trying to place him. "Unless you knew me before 1977, I think you've got the wrong bloke," he said. "Well. 'cept for that brief period in 83, but I don't talk about that."

Ianto crossed his arms, keeping his tone even and his annoyance at the other man. "So you took a jaunt around the seventies and eighties, and what, decided you like it?" It didn't occur to him that he may have had the wrong person, not with his anger at Hart bubbling towards the surface.

Spike's eyes narrowed, trying once again to place him. Nope.

"What, did I eat your mum or something like that? Look, mate, I'm sorry, I am, but that was another lifetime. I've changed."

You could only repent for so long, and Spike wasn't going to spend the rest of his unlife skulking about like Angel.

Yuri spent a lot of time walking these days. He was never one to sit still for long, especially now that he'd gotten used to traveling back home. In retrospect, it was funny that he had been content to stay in his tiny little world in the lower quarter for so long.

Now here he was trapped in a single city again. What he would give to have Ba'ul here to fly him around so he could see if there was anything else in this world outside of this one island. Though people had been right about this place growing over time, as more people "worshipped." Little things here and there seemed to change on a daily basis. Yuri had made something of a game out of finding them. It was something to do, at least.

He had just passed a tree that hadn't been there a couple days ago when he noticed someone else walking. Actually, it was someone who looked a little familiar.

"Hey." He may as well say hi. "You're the guy I was talking to over the network the other day, right?"

Spike paused, looking him over. "Talk to a lot of people," he said dismissively, warm from a few drinks but far from tanked. Then he tilted his head.

"Right," he said. "The one who wants the gods to read How to Win Friends and Influence People. Feelin' any better?"

He wasn't surprised that it took the other man a moment to recognize him. There were enough people here that video chats could start to blend together. But then, apparently he did recognize him.

"Heh." That wasn't a surprising comment, either. He briefly wondered whether that was actually a book, not that it mattered. "Yeah, I'm good." Not that he was any less annoyed with the gods, but until he figured out some way of doing something about it, it wasn't worth dwelling on too much.

"Not that we don't have every right to be angry," Spike said, warming to it. "But until there's somethin' I can see, hard to take a swing."
