mistletoe smoochin' open log. go wild. let us know if anything gets too adult. or take your dirty diddlin' to a locked post. otherwise, this will remain public.
[ don't ask why he's here, he lives free!!! no just kidding, he's never actually been here and it's cold wandering around outside so he's just going to slip inside here for a moment and stare at flowers like he's interested in them. ]
Oh-- hey, Jun-kun, I didn't realize this was your place. [ yes he did ]
i am so sorrydreamhuntsDecember 3 2011, 07:38:26 UTC
[ it's way better in here, that's for sure, and he guesses the flowers are nice too. he looks around the room to see if there's anyone else around and notices some mistletoe next to a display looking a bit out of place.
offhandedly-- ]
You can call me Izaya, you know.
[ and approaching the counter now with that in his hand ]
These are popping up all over the place. Were you selling them or is it just more of this place's nonsense?
[ Izaya-san makes him sound less old which, at the ripe young age of forever twenty-one, he definitely appreciates. shrugging, he gets closer and sets it down onto the counter between them. ]
Yeah. Though if that's the case, I guess I'm not surprised. It must be their idea of a joke.
It's like what I said before-- from my own perspective and observations, Kurosu Jun is not anyone notable. He's satisfied to live an ordinary life, keep an ordinary relationship, run an ordinary flower shop albeit in a not-so-ordinary place. But maybe I overlooked something. Maybe it's satisfying because to someone who lived engrossed in experiences so much less mundane, this is still new to you.
[ this is all speculation, of course. it hadn't been his intention when he'd stepped inside but the truth is that seeing the mistletoe gave him the idea to (attempt) to get under Jun's skin a little bit. because he'd had the opportunity. nothing less. ]
[ um, to be honest, that was pretty creepy. in other words, he succeeded, and he's right. jun is satisfied with the life he's created for himself here, as satisfied as he can possibly be, which isn't saying much in the long run but still worth something. he's not curled up into a ball crying his days away, anyway.
he tries to take a step back, naturally repulsed by the invasive speculation on his existence. what kind of weirdo says things like that after walking into a flower shop? ]
That's...I can't say you're wrong... [ he hasn't lived any ordinary sort of life. unless 'ordinary' involves having your dad replaced by an elder god who convinces you to start a cult, among other things. ] But why? If I'm as ordinary as you say, then there's nothing for you to observe. This place...it's not anything like Sumaru, and it never will be. [ he hopes. ] I'm not any kind of extraordinary person anymore, neither here nor there. I'm just...me.
[ Izaya, that's who. anyway, it was supposed to be creepy so if he's hit the mark, that's even better. it's not often he meets an average person who is content by the title of average or by the prospects of a mundane existence. if he suspected something else because of it, that was why, though he'd had no particular inclination to pursue that line of thought either-- he just so happens to be presented with an opportunity to do so now, so he might as well.
all in all, even if there are some aspects to Jun that he doesn't yet understand if he ever will, he's still of the opinion that he's an ordinary person. rather, an ordinary person who must have had a not so ordinary life. ]
You really think that's true? How can you say for sure? Neither of us can, really, so it's all up for speculation. It doesn't burden me any to keep an interest at least.
[ and let's put it this way: ]
Just because you're ordinary doesn't mean that you won't react.
[ no shit, sherlock! i'm a person with feelings, you raving douche! ]
Of course. [ he shifts uncomfortably, wondering why he can't just move away and shuffle izaya out of the store and on his way. ] That's what it means to have feelings. Doesn't everyone react?
[ whaaat no way???? except that's the whole point. ]
Of course. But I love humans. Even the ordinary ones. That's why I don't really mind--
[ reaching a hand forward, he settles it on Jun's shoulder, curling fingers inward to keep his grip close. one hand upon the counter, he's leaning over it just as closely. and should he not be shoved off in time (because god knows he would be), he's pushing across the remaining distance to kiss him. ]
[ jun is too unsettled by his words to shove him off in time and too startled to break the kiss, at least for now. he lingers, with his eyes wide open (wonderfully unromantic) and his hands balling up into pale white fists on the counter. ]
[ perfect! sorry, it's nothing personal and he doesn't plan to do it again necessarily but this was fun! that kind of hurt but he's not fazed. taking a stride back from the counter, a very satisfied smile on his face, he's thinking he won't make this any more awkward than it has to be by staying longer. ]
It's all the same to me, whether you swoon and give in or hit me in the face, you know, Jun-kun? But it's probably much better for you this way since you'd only get your heart broken.
[ backing out for a few steps so that he can look at his expression before he turns around ]
I'd love to stay longer but you've already proven everything I need to know. See ya!
( ooc: i only have plans for jun with yuuki, but feel free to use it otherwise! )

welp that sure is some mistletoe he failed to notice. leaning back a bit. ]
Mistletoe...no, I haven't been selling it. Though that time of the year is approaching, so perhaps I should consider --
[ wait where did he even get that ]
You found that in here?

[ he squints, as if examining Jun briefly. ]
Maybe they'd like me to reconsider.

Um...what do you mean?
