I know the feeling. [ though that numbness hadn't helped him in the past. if anything it'd made things worse. ] I just never thought I'd have to go through losing the same person twice. [ a slight smile at that as he just shakes his head. ] It sounds kind of dumb when I put it like that, huh?

[ a father, huh... ] I know what that's like. [ his voice is a bit more subdued than usual, sympathetic. it isn't quite the same, but he lost his mother as well... though it's been quite a while since he'd even thought of that. ]
