This is not the first time I have been compelled to follow the instruction of a temple, however... [he touches his hand to the bridge of his nose, as though nursing a headache] I know only the ways of the Karma Temple, and after what I have seen lately, I am wary at best about this new form of worship. Toward what is it leading ( Read more... )

Another new guy, huh? I wouldn't worry about all the stuff you have to do back where you came from, since you might not be going back for awhile.

[ she realises how that might sound, and gives a reassuring look. ] But it's not so bad here once you get used to it, especially if some of your friends are here, too.

And if they are not? If my comrades remained behind, what might I expect should I eventually return? There wasn't much time left, if they are not here and time is progressing without me, they may be gone for good as far as I know.

A good question, but I'm not sure any of us have the answer to it yet. But that's all the more reason to get back home as fast as possible, right?

Yes, the uncertain condition of my comrades and that world is my primary motivation to return as soon as it is possible. That is, as soon as I am able to discover a way to make it possible. It would be unpleasant to return at a leisurely pace only to find that they are gone.

I'm afraid no one's discovered a way back yet.

If there was a way in, logically there should be a way out. It's not for a lack of trying that it has not been located yet, is it?

I would imagine not. There are people here who are very keen to return home, after all.

In that case, and presuming there is a variety in the methodology of those seeking a return route, there should be a possibility, however slim, of success at some point in time. I will need a closer look at what avenues have already been tested to better plot a course of action for myself in this endeavor. [He seems to be talking to himself, until he turns his attention back to the screen]

How about yourself? Are you "keen", as you put it, to go back?

[ the surprises just keep on coming, doesn't it? not long after he spotted the presence of demifiend, there is also another disarmingly familiar presence in the network -- but in a much different way than the former.

the discrepancies of their arrival - nearly a month after when he first found himself here - is a little disconcerting, but by now serph is familiar with the idea of time-space continuum not being well maintained in this world to reason it as such. ]

[ he doesn't hesitate before he's switching his own device on to video, pausing only to go through gale's transmission again.

what did heat do? what was EGG? serph cannot recall any details about such things ... perhaps gale had spent a month in another world, and not at the point where they'd been separated following the destruction of the junkyard. and that woman .....

none of these thoughts, however, are readily apparent, when serph starts his reply. ]

[Of all the people he might have expected to find here, Serph didn't even make the list. Not after what he saw, not after he had to tell Argilla to leave him knowing they could do nothing for him or Heat. And he can't help but let his surprise show when he hears his name in that voice so rarely used; it can't be anyone other than their leader.]

Serph-! But how...? You fell, I saw it myself... so how can you be here? [But he's not displeased to see logic turned on its head for once.]

[ the surprise on gale's face is something quite unfamiliar to serph, the animation of the usual stolid features a little odd ... perhaps there is a reason for him to express such an 'emotion', and he isn't altogether totally wrong in that, as confirmed by gale's words.

'fell'? had he.... 'died', then? what happened to the others?

serph frowns slightly, brows furrowing in confusion as he tries to follow; something had obviously happened - to them, to himself. it is an odd thing to come to terms with, the possibilities that such a lot had gone on while he was in Zodion. he wants to know. ]

Apparently we are "saving the cosmos" by engaging in worship, but what exactly is threatening it is beyond me.

I suppose it is difficult to feel compelled to save something that does not appear to be threatened by any imminent danger.

It's also very troubling to note that some people come from worlds where there actually is legitimate danger looming on the horizon, and yet the Twelve would still take these people who have the potential to save their home worlds away. Apparently time does not pass while we are in Zodion, but really, there's no way to tell if there are exceptions to the rule unless we are all freed.

I believe, if there is such impending danger where one is from, it would be best not to wait for freedom to be granted but to seek a way to gain it on one's own. It is my plan to do so, in the event that time does continue on without me there. Though it does give me a limited amount of time within which to work, presuming time in both worlds moves at the same pace.

It's a mark of my tribe. [He turns his head and gestures to the streak of orange on his hood] Such as this. Orange is the color of the Embryon. Have you seen someone here bearing it?
