Lunar Eclipse, 21 Feb 08

Feb 19, 2008 10:58

There is a lunar eclipse on Wed night (actually very early Thursday morning), if anyone is keen to see another total eclipse. The details are:
Penumbral phase starts at 00:40 (not especially visible, in the south)
Umbral phase starts at 01:47 (in the SW)
Totality from 03:05 to 03:50 (starts in the SW, moves to WSW)
Umbral phase ends at 05:08 (in the W)
Penumbral phase ends 06:15 (in the W, not long before sunrise).

The times (here in GMT) are the same wherever you are, but the position of the moon in the sky will vary (those given above are for South Wales).

If anyone sees it, I would love to hear what you noticed, what colour it went, and any timed observations of the magnitude.
