I don't think this will come as a big surprise to anyone, but I love Rome, the TV show (as well as the city). It's awesome. Yes, it's not wholly accurate, but it's a damned sight better than any other depiction of ancient Rome that I've ever seen - it's gritty and nasty, with a veneer of nice when you look at the rich people. Plus, the storyline, which is only slightly padded/altered from the history, is stonking. It's such an exciting period of history (the rise/murder of Julius Caesar in season 1 and the rise of Augustus in season 2) that it would be hard to make it bad. Plus, James Purefoy gets naked in it a lot. What's not to like?
