Many of my gentle readers are removed from me by great distances, but a thanks to the power of the Internet and a pleasant confluence of events, you get to see and hear some of the people I hang with. Embedded below is footage of a convention that was held New Jersey this past weekend, which was attended by some folks I've grown rather fond of.
(Can my streak of terminal prepositions continue? Find out!)
(Also, I should get a reward for not writing, "the magic of the Internet casts the illusion of first impression," or something.)
Listed in order of appearance in bullet-point form and with pithy epithets, all for your convenience:
- At 1:03, you get to meet Nick, "The Advocate."
- "The Encyclopaedic" buddha_davis follows immediately, around 1:14.
- Jason, "The Skeptic," appears shortly thereafter at 1:49.
- And finally, at 7:18, is Sam (detritus9 ), "The Scholar."
The video is full of people of note, but there's only a handful with whom I've had the pleasure to game (there goes that preposition streak!). Bill White says his peace at 1:28. He's the author of
Ganakagok and has played the occasional D&D game with us at the Strategist. He's the brother of
Mel, a Thursday night regular who's now overseas.
adamdray makes an appearance at 8:08, who I saw
all too briefly at Gen Con but really met at the house of
yet another member of the Thursday Night Crew. Coincidentally, I met Sam at that same event.
