My desktop computer purchasing advice has not changed for years. In general, one should either build one's own (or have something custom built by a family member or friend), buy Apple, or buy something as-cheap-as-possible-with-caveats. As the only one I know who actually reads Anandtech, I thought you might have some sage advice. I'm looking for a computer to take notes and run queries on - so it needs to be a notebook with a full-size keyboard, and should probably run Windows, but otherwise should be as cheap and unobtrusive as possible. Any suggestions?
