I forget every year about the ghost of Florence Westbrook, the old-maid sister of Cora westbrook, at the Green Manor Restaurant until the articles pop up in local papers around Halloween every year.

Most of the stories about encounters with her are remarkable.
Atlanta and Savannah abound with ghost haunts, from civil war places to native burial grounds; there is lots of paranormal activity here.
Nevertheless, Green Manor is the most easily accessible ghost I have ever heard of.
I know local police friends who initiate rookies by telling them that the Green Manor parking lot is the best place to hang out and write reports.

They ALWAYS find out very quickly that the house is haunted and the boys always get a good laugh at the new guy/girl. I know one guy who has flatly refused to go on alarm calls there.
The place was once a working plantation and the story is that Florence died when her dress caught fire while bringing water to some workers sometime around 1890’s. How anomalous to die in a fire while carrying water????

Anyway, the management somewhat reluctantly embraces her. There is no denying her ghost is there, but it is still their business and they do not want to scare folks away by advertising it either way. However, if you ask anyone who works there about his or her time there, almost everyone has a story. Many said they never ever believed in ghosts at all until they worked there.
But if you ever want a guaranteed place to experience an encounter with a ghost Green Manor is at the top of my list.

Here's a link to the restaurant today.

If I was them I'd probably advertise the activity and have murder mystery dinners or some junk like that, then of course I'd quickly run out of business or worse.
