a brief update
i haven't written on here for a long time. i should update more often. here are the bullets of my recent life...
-i cut a huge dead rat in half with a pair of kitchen scissors to feed to the great horned owl and the barred owl at wolf hollow. eww. totally. but i'm proud of myself for going ahead and doing it.
-today i went sailing on the mary o'farrell, my dad's newly restored sailboat that he and my mom came up here on. i sat out on the bowsprit through a bunch of waves and wake and it was awesome, and when the sails came down i climbed the mast to sit on the so-far-unused radar stand and that was also supremely awesome. now and then it still feels like the house is rocking back and forth.
-i am back on my medication and that is a good thing.
-i gave blood today! i did it once at whitman and it was not a good experience so i've put off doing it again, but it went fine today! yay. so now i feel like i've done a good deed. go me.
-haven't been running for approximately a couple of weeks. this is bad.
-the play is going spectacularly and it's tons of fun and i can do all my own make-up now and last weekend nick, chris, and katie came to see it, and this weekend mom, dad, kathleen, and my aunt jane who played the same role 20 years ago, and my grandparents, and my great aunt and uncle all came to see it. sweet.
-it's time for bed.

edit: oh yeah. no fire calls yet, that i've been able to respond to. there was a field fire last week, but i was at work damn it. what's a person got to do? mom offered not only to set a field alight for me but even to write to me from prison. my mom's awesome. but i haven't taken her up on it. the house is still rocking. i think it's time for bed for reals this time. ("for reals". wow, that takes me back...)
