Pitchfork's online interview features are always visually striking (I liked their feature on the UK/French all-woman rock band
Savages), but the new feature with Janelle Monae is outstanding. Nice interview. As one would expect, she's beautiful, mysterious (she's got enough sense to keep her private life private) and interesting ( creativity, Black culture and self-awareness, and marketing -- absolutely necessary in a changing music business). There's a bit of insight into her collaborative work with the Wondaland crew, which I especially enjoyed; one of the best feelings in life is finding a group/team of people with whom you can work well & productively.
