OOC: Why I'm done with Glee.

I didn't have to watch last night to know that my love affair with Glee has come to an end. It's been coming for a while. There are many characters that I love on my once favorite show, but none that I came to relate to and adore as much as Lauren Zizes. She'll always be my gateway into the world of RP. She'll always be my favorite badass Glee girl.

But I am sad, and upset with the way she was so unceremoniously dumped from the show. She was awesome. Never afraid to do what she wanted, or to speak her mind. She was hilarious, and everything I wished that I could have been in high school, rather than the shy, mousy geek that I was. 13 years after I graduated, I found myself wishing that I could go back to be just like her.

Thank you, Glee writers, for giving her an awesome story with Puck chasing her, and her making him wait to be sure that he really meant it. Thank you for taking it away as soon as they semi-got together, because, as we all know, there was no story for them after that.

Thank, Glee writers, for being a show about diversity, but taking away the girl with attitude to replace her with ... a skinnier and therefore prettier girl with attitude. Thank you for being yet another medium in which a girl of a pretty standard size - she's maybe a size or two above me, even - cannot possibly believably get a gorgeous guy. As if we didn't have to see that pretty much everywhere else.

So, not that I'm trying to make it an announcement or anything - I'm pretty done with the show. I'll continue to play Lauren, as I love her so much, but my canon is Season Two. Not that I ever really played her strictly to canon anyway. There is no Season Three for me.

If you want to continue playing with Lauren - well, she and I would love that. If you don't, that's cool too.

It's been fun, except when it wasn't. I hope to have new adventures and make new friends as I continue having fun in the world of RP that I've come to love so much.
