I looked up from whatever useless task I was performing this morning at "work" and stared straight at a man dressed like a pirate heading to work on a casual Friday.
Seriously. Think Jack Sparrow only with a white shirt, linen pants and no boots. He had on a head scarf with little braids that ended in beads scattered throughout his hair. And beads in his beard! And two sash type things across his torso with little beads and charms on them. He may even have been wearing eye make-up but after the first sighting I could barely look in his general direction for fear of laughing out loud.
My co-worker and I decided that he was dressed like this on purpose but not for any purpose with which we normally associate people dressed up as pirates. It's not Halloween, it was 10:30 am and therefore a little too early for a costumer party, he was too fully in costume for him to be on his way to a theatrical performance of any kind (i.e. his hair and make-up were already done and it was raining outside) and there are no pirate-themed amusement parks, rides, shows, restaurants or historical attractions anywhere in the vicinity.
Truly one of the most bizarre things I have seen in a long, long time.
