With a nod in nostalgia's direction I have just purchased two tickets to see the New Kids here in Ottawa on March 30. I balked at the idea of seeing them in the fall because, frankly, I am embarrassed for them but Joe, here, in my city?! Still the best looking and therefore worth the price of admission. I'm going with my sister who was also my date to the only other NKOTB shows I've been to. Way back in the summer and fall of '91. Ahhhhh the good ol' days. There will probably be much less screaming this time and my dad won't have to hold me by the scruff of my neck to prevent me from bolting off in search of Joey. And no free parents lounge either. Our seats will be much better and we may actually be able to use our eyes rather than the giant television screens to see what's going on. I'm anticipating many cringe-worthy moments (I'm looking in your direction Jordan) but all in all it will be fun.
I'm working on my application to the University of Winnipeg. It turns out that I can use my classics courses (all 50 or so credit hours of them) as a minor teachable. With two glowing reference letters from my oldest and dearest friends, an autobiography filled with as much propagandistic jargon as I can muster and a BA from the school itself I'm cautiously confident. The only downside is that applications take a long time to complete and as a result I am losing serious study hours. Having already fallen behind this is not good. My upcoming ten days off better be a very productive ten days or I will have a problem.
