All the sharks in this part of the story were on t-shirts and tattoos, but it is good to meet other shark enthusiasts, even if it's in the Fort Lauderdale airport Chili's.

philrancid dropped pamelonian and me off at Kansas City International Airport with our wheeled duffels on Saturday morning. KCI has lovely flooring. I might spend a day photographing it some time

Yeah, you don't want to forget any of this experience. Are you keeping this in another file/notebook as well? This seems like just the experience to read and remember when you are and old, old woman and looking back on what was, I suspect, the beginning of a new chapter in your story.

Sure am! Actually, most of this is being transcribed from the paper journal I took with me. I bought a light turquoise Clairefontaine notebook for the occasion, and named it Shark Dreams.

Excellent! As much as I love all my digital writing stuff, there really is no substitute for siting down with an old paper journal and reading what your younger self wrote in your own hand. :)

I kind of wish I had a color laser printer, so I could print and glue pictures into that little book. I hate inkjet. The cartridges dry out in five minutes, yet cost an arm and a leg...

Have you seen the water slides through shark tanks?

He came to KU and did a PMC workshop for everyone over a weekend. He also did a fun lecture. He was into spray flock at that time.

As for the slides, I'm not keen on captivity for wild animals, so I would probably find that at least a little upsetting.

If you ever find yourself in Miami Lakes, I highly recommend the Hotel Indigo. In addition to the weirdness factor, it was cheap and pretty nice!
