While in Haiti we stayed at a place called AFCA Villiage. It's walled in and has a gate closing it off from the road, so it's very safe. There is a medical clinic and a mechanic's shop that open onto the street as well so people can get help at these places without having to come into the village itself. My trip to Haiti went well. It's difficult to find the right words to explain because it's difficult to give a full weight to my meaning. I also find it a little difficult to order my thoughts, but I'll do my best to be clear.

Haiti is a very sad place, especially when compared to the United States. Here we have so much more than we really need.

I have had such a great week here; I can't believe it's over already! I only just perfected my sleeping-on-the-bus technique last night, and my bartering skills have definitly improved over the past 7 days. My proudest bartering accomplishment? We're here! We had a long but basically uneventful plane trip over. Dreaming's apartment is SO nice, and we've had a lovely evening eating dinner and walking around all the shops near her apartment.

Now hopefully we'll all sleep through the night and minimize jetleg from the get-go.

My truck doesn't like long trips. I've discovered this the hard way. When it wouldn't start again at the McDonalds in SC I told Lisa that it was tired and just needed to rest, but did she believe me?
