It's that time of the year again... major changing.

Still slight changes, I've got a basic core, but it needs tweaking, as always.

The main problem is Spanish 210 and the Spanish program in general here at Penn State. I went from 200, where I was the star of the class, to 210, where I can't get a word in because everyone is fluent. The problem? There's no system for prereqs and people like to take the class last. She expects everyone to be fluent and I'm not. I can't wait for the first test, oh wait, yes I can. The program is meant to study abroad and I don't want to go. So, follow the logical process. I start the English major, I love it, I'm interested in cultural studies, I continue the Spanish program, I don't like it, I'm not interested in doing more than speaking Spanish. Dur obvi, I'm going to keep a major in English and a minor in Spanish. Now, that's all great, but it's only 31 credits and I've got 45 left.

So I have time for another minor... sort of. I can stay another semester, which takes away from my whole Teach for America plan, or I can take summer classes, which takes away from my I'm awesome let's have drunken summers plan. However, Washington State may look at my application and say English major, that's cool, but look at those two minors, he went above his calling and we want to make love to him.

Let's take a look at some of the immediate options I just came up with...

Media Studies: Every class I've ever wanted to take, with some unnecessary fluff (100, 180). I can mold it around the film studies the college of COMM offer.
Film/TV Minor: Basically... awesome. 150, 242, 250... classes I've always wanted to take but never had a reason. And, I'd be like an inverted Caitlin (she's Film major, Spanish and English minor, I'd be English major, Spanish and Film minor... and I love Caitlin, we could basically take the same classes, or something).
Human Development and Family Studies: The shaved, albino dog belonging to the lesbian sister of education. This would be good if and only if I was set on getting a masters in education, which I'm not. But I already have a third of the minor completed from my early days as an education major.

So yeah. We'll see. I'll keep you posted. Because I'm INSANE.

PS, I named my kitten Fiona Rex but mostly just Rex. Fiona = Parker Posey's character in Josie and the Pussycats and Rex = the surname of my favorite character from Jurassic Park, the Tyrannosaurus Rex. She has figured out how to climb my loft, but she can't get down. Matt said she jumped today and landed on her back and I'm afraid she might be slightly retarded now because she tried to bite my laptop. Weird, but true.
