Happy New Year!

I am still alive. Condo bought, stuff flung in. I finally have my very own place!!! It is so nice. I've met two of my neighbors, they seem cool. When I look around and think, OMG I don't deserve this, I remind myself that this is an investment that I also get to enjoy. How great is that?! The neighborhood is very cool and it's so convenient to get everywhere. I discovered yesterday that the commute to my store/church (they are close together but not one and the same) is the same as before! Just now I'm coming from the SW instead of NW. On Sunday I did my WS shopping spree. I spent $1200!!! And that's WITH my employee discount. Yikes. I got an 11 pc. set of stainless steel pots & pans, 4 knives and a knife block, a Le Creuset pot and teapot, and lots of little things. But as much as I plan to cook and bake, it's a good, life-time investment. I still have several things on my list, however. I'll have to see as I go that I get the right equipment. The manager that I've worked with the longest was there and when she saw my cart, she said, Are you quitting? I have been waiting for that day--the shopping spree, not quitting--for as long as I've worked there! It was almost more exciting than closing on the condo.

I have several new students at the studio, including three singers. Some are good and some are struggling. One kid has had 18 mths of lessons and can barely read a note. How sad is that?! And how can parents and teachers put up with that? I need to teach my students to read fluently for my own sake! I get really tight in my back and can't breathe when I listen to them struggle like that. Thank goodness for Music Tree!

Well, speaking of the studio, I'd better get over there. Haven't done my Tues. planning yet and there's lots to do. Hopefully, I'll check in again sooner this time. I only have two jobs to worry about for a few more weeks. Whew!
