2008 update
The end and beginning of the year, in brief:
- Spend the long NYE weekend with a few friends hosting a "retreat" at their house in Seattle while their housemates were gone. Nice to "get away" and sill be able to walk home and sleep in my own bed. Much good food was had, fun movies watched, and games played. Most other attendees weren't folks I knew very well, but were good people.
- It's weird being single at an event predominantly attended by couples.
- Mid-day the 31st I was feeling a little off, presumably due to wonky sleep and eating habits. I was exhausted the morning of the 1st, despite no discernible excesses, and by the afternoon of the 1st my stomach was definitely unhappy, and people were telling me my color was off. M brought me back to their guest room and fed me broth and toast and a banana. By 11 am the 2nd I felt mostly better. Seems I had a near miss with what one friend described as "the exorcist flu."
- Late the 2nd I flew overnight to visit Mom in "don't forget it's Colonial!" Williamsburg Virginia. Barely slept on the plane and spent most of yesterday thoroughly zombified.
- I'm here for a few days, then to DC, NYC, and Boston. (Sorry Denver and Pittsburgh folks! Not this trip!)
- Home the 18th, for a week, then SF and Japan until Feb 14th.
