Okay so Saturday morning life smacked the Spradlin family in the face yet again. So after our house flooding twice you might ask what else could happen to this poor family?
Oh but wait. The wife and I were on our way to a Team Captain University for the American Cancer Society's Relay for life, so we stopped at the grocery store to pick up some candy to hand out to participants as we were helping to facilitate. The sun was out in full force that morning as we were leaving the parking lot and heading to the Training.
Apparently someone before us had hit this cement handicapped parking piller so it was bent at an angle and the wife and I didn't see it. We crumpled the front left corner of the Odyssey like it was nobody's business. Thankfully the airbags didn't go off and someone happened to have an battery powered saw that helped cut some of the plastic away from the tire.
The good thing is we did attend a Team Captain University for the Relay just after this and we got to listen to and I got to retell my "story of why you relay". So we just had a car wreck, nobody in the family is dealing with cancer nobody was hurt and we have car insurance, so it really helped to put life in perspective.
The funny/sad thing about it the day is after the accident is we arrive at the training and I realize I didn't have a power cord for one of our devices, so I had to run home and "borrow" the one from my computer. Then the Helpdesk calls me in the middle of facilitating and tells my wife that a lab assistant didn't show up for her shift on Saturday morning and that the lab manager was driving to crockett and her phone wasn't working. Then to round off the day, the Bearkats lost their football game!!!!!!
The good news is that the Cowboys beat the colts Sunday and that helped my mood imeasurably!
