today was our passing out parade...we are no longer chao recruits...we are chao privates!
looking back, the whole experience was great. okay, maybe because we had "special treatment". making new friends, talking cock, laughing so hard-i can't believe that i'm actually missing tekong, albeit only certain aspects of it. okay i take that back. i just miss the admin/free time we had haha. my only regret is that i didn't really make any close friends right until the end of bmt.
today we part and i don't know if we'll see each other again.
just came back from a rather unsuccessful platoon/section outing haha. we planned to chiong somewhere and watch the champions league match-yeah although i don't really care much for soccer-and quite a few people were quite enthusiastic about it. in the end, only three of us met. but that wasn't the problem; the problem was that there's nothing to do in orchard road! devil's bar and indochine were closing at 2 so we decided to go watch a midnight movie at cine. all set with out assorted alcoholic beverages from cheers, we trooped upstairs to find out that there weren't any movies. i just checked the newspapers, and all the midnight movies that cine screens START at midnight. so much for 24 hours. on the other hand, it's more funny than irritating that all the midnight movies start at midnight and there aren't any movies after the midnight movies end.
towards the end of the night we prowled along orchard and i decided to go explore cuppage cause i heard there were some pubs there; particularly, i heard there was a jazz pub there and i read about it in 8days, i think. yeah and it's there alright, and yeah, it's the only establishment that was open! and it's open till 6am everyday!! and there's jazz music every night from 10pm to 1am.
ATTENTION all you people who are reading this. who can tolerate jazz and wants to go to 'round midnight? nice ambience, there's a pool table and the jazz should be jazz. yes the jazz should be jazz. not like norah jones or whatnot i guess. wednesday and thursday nights are guitarfunkjazz!
