I finally have the time to make an entry to LJ and it's down because of another DDOS attack (according to Russian press), typical ;). It's staying up for longer periods so hopefully they'll soon manage to stop whoever is behind it or work around it.

A while back I participated in a Leverage friending meme hosted by nightcamedown and I wanted to offer a belated welcome to everyone who friended me.
As you've noticed I'm not around much during Spring and Summer, the perils of a job where I'm away for weeks at a time with spotty internet.
I'm hoarding entries and stories when I can grab them and am enjoying reading them whenever I have a quiet moment or need a pick me up. I especially love the Leverage reactions and meta that get posted after the episodes.

Sheryden has been saying many good things about Leverageland and just before Season 4 started I decided it was the perfect time to join. I am now a proud member of team_thief. I haven't been able to create anything for it yet, but I did manage to snag points by voting and getting two of the 'last word' challenges right.

I've listened to all the Season 3 DVD commentaries multiple times, I've found that listening to the mp3s relaxes me during and after a busy day. And I'm caught up with the new Season 4 episodes. I'm enjoying it, loved Long Way Down and the Potato Job, but as with s3 I'm reserving judgment until the Season finale.

I can't help worrying about how Nate's issues are going to play out. I'm hoping his dismissiveness of Eliot is just a way to throw off whoever is listening to the team. I'm also hoping the writers will keep the relationships to a minimum and that in the next couple episodes it is acknowledged that the kids know that Nate and Sophie are sleeping together. They can't claim that Eliot notices distinctive stances, haircuts, and even shoes if he hasn't noticed the dress in San Lorenzo and the bra on the stairs in Hot Potato.

I watched the promos for the next episode and I'm looking forward to it immensely (with some trepidation).
I'm kinda hoping it isn't a fake out and he has come up against someone who could really hurt him, takes him and the team by surprise, and shows them (read Nate) that they can't become complacent when they send Eliot into fights.

Christian Kane has been doing gigs and promotion on his off days while filming s4 is still going on (until 8/22), apparently he has never heard of the words break and rest.
This weekend he's at Dukes and at the Oregon Jamboree. An interview at KUPL has been uploaded to their Youtube and he also appeared on Oregon tv station Koin. Both are fun and well worth the watch.

The last few days, instead of catching up with LJ, I've watched some of the pilots for 2011 (the only two that stood out were Harry's law and Switched at birth) and I'm in the middle of the first season of Body of Proof. I was interested in it because of Jery Ryan (Tara in Leverage) and I'm really enjoying it. I like Dana Delany as Megan Hunt and love her trying to mend her bond with her daughter. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the season, I just hope they aren't going where I think they are going with one particular relationship.

Hopefully I'll be able to finish the two memes I started many months ago. I had started the entry for Day 3 about fanfic but inevitably I was distracted by favourite stories in fandoms I hadn't read in years.
I do have two recs, both are Leverage and both are amazing explorations of Eliot's possible backstory.
First is Ranger School by fleurlb (for help_pakistan). It's set during his training for the Rangers and is about his struggle to complete it.
And Just a Soldier Part 1 and part 2 by moonchildfic (for Help_Japan). Which is set (mostly) after Eliot leaves the army and tells the story of General Flores' history with him (s3 finale spoilers).

*keeps fingers crossed that this will post*
