Yesterday we returned from an unexpected and very last minute two week holiday to
Texel, we booked on Tuesday and left Friday. I had an amazing and very relaxing time, despite the weather we spent most of it on the beach and the dunes. It was too cold for lying in the sun but it was perfect for long walks, I'm 'heerlijk uitgewaaid'.
We did take the laptop and had internet, but I spent as little time as possible on it. I finally took the time to read a couple books from cover to cover. Read Bill Bryson's 'A short history' again, it was even better the second time, and I finally finished Terry Pratchett's Nation. It says a lot that it has taken me 7 months instead of the usual week. It wasn't the fault of the book, one of Pratchett's best, but it has everything to do with how I've spend my free time.
Because of the holiday I again/still owe people emails and comments but hopefully I'll get to them on Monday. Speaking of Monday, as one of the disadvantages of the time difference, I won't be able to see the Leverage Season 3 premiere today, and have to wait until tomorrow. I'm very excited, and slightly anxious, to see it. I hope there's a download available early in the morning otherwise I'll have to wait even longer. But as an awesome consolation
leveragexchange has gone live, so there are more than 30 new Leverage fics to read!
And as a very nice and unexpected surprise, Christian Kane's 5 song EP is now, as of last night, available as a physical CD at his
website's store. I immediately pre-ordered it, they say it'll be shipped on the 29th, but I didn't want to pay $30 for the priority shipping, so it will take a while to get here. It's going to be so nice to have an actual CD of Kane's music.
