I'll go. I believe I could use the chance to work off a little steam.

I hope that we're not expected to go unarmed. I've noticed a trend in curious planets, even ones that are supposedly home.

"No, by no means...Did I know you before...in a village?"

I might be able to offer the services of my ship once the landing party is formed.

I suppose I should stay here then and make sure that the planet doesn't go anywhere while you're down there.

I don't frequently get to say those words and mean them in earnest.

You know, you could make yourself even more useful and gather up the rest of your fellow Operations officers to handle the monitoring together.

My fellow operations officer is putting the away team together! And the other one no doubt is dealing with the absolute lack of panic and hysteria.

Little odd, don't you think. Everyone so ho hum about a planet moving from place to place. It's not that it's new, like us. They reacted to the virus violently enough.

"Kirk, buddy friend pal...let me give you some advice. DON'T GO DOWN THERE! There are these underground monsters, Graboids we call 'em back home. They are 12 feet of hungry with no qualms against making a Captain McNugget of you. If you want to survive you will beam down a few million years later when they are mostly extinct"

Your advice has been noted and logged. However, the precambrian era covered billions of years, and this planet is not necessarily home to graboids yet. Furthermore, there is news of an intelligent life form that might still be alive but in danger down there.

"What kind of life? Are we talking people or something that farts to fly?

I should probably volunteer before my brother or my father do. I'm sure an android along would be of some use.

I'm sure you will be useful, welcome.

I am not used to androids speaking of having brothers or fathers, I would be most interested to hear more.

I'm not your typical android. Then again you probably wouldn't wish a typical android named for you. I'm Tiberius Avon-Soong, and I would like to speak with you more at a less pressing time.
