Kirk was very relieved to be back to himself. And glad that Scotty was too. He knew he was never going to hear the end of it from McCoy, and Spock, though he had ordered that the tale not get back to the Enterprise. They each had their own very subtle and completely deniable ways of letting him know that they remembered. He smiled even as he sighed in resignation.
Back in his regular quarters on the station, he was tidying up--a station was like a star ship, due to the limited space one had to be zealous about getting things back where they belonged or one would be overwhelmed with clutter, when he found an envelope with his name on it.
He tore it open with a bit of a frown-- he didn't like feeling out of control, and in the dark, and found a flat red crystalline object, and a station map with a particular spot marked.
"Huh." He cocked his head at it, then slammed the drawer on the last of his belongings and headed decisively out into the station, following the map in his hand.
