Crickety-cricket and other stuff [OTA]

As enamored as he was of space stations and the amount of endeavour required to maintain a life-supporting environment in the vast reaches of space (where only a handful of life forms were capable of surviving without any sort of augmentation), the Doctor found himself missing details one could find planet-side. Chief among those: grass. Particularly the grass found spread along the surface of a well-tended cricket pitch. Temporal cycling aside, it was difficult to determine the time of year the station existed in at the moment.

Well, it had to be summer somewhere.

Which was why the Doctor had sought out a large enough open space in order to practice his batting. Though the station was large, actual space was still at a premium, and there was very little open room which wasn't taken up by walkways or shops or the other minutiae of space station life. Yes, there was a serviceable cricket pitch in the TARDIS, but the Doctor decided that he shouldn't spend the entirety of his time within his own ship.

In desperation, he'd taken refuge in something called the 'virtual arena', which was perfectly capable of creating a holographic environment that resembled the cricket pitch located in a small English village, which the Doctor had occasion to visit more than once. He spent a good amount of time within the holographic pitch, and once he was done, was rather curious about what other virtual environments were available.

Odder than the arena itself was the fact that it didn't appear to have anyone in charge of it. He began to rifle through the computer console, bookmarking the more interesting environments for possible exploration later on.
