I was thinking about getting a blog instead.
A series of complications led me to getting the internet not until the fifth month I've been in Japan, which is ridiculous, but I have it now, so yay.
So today I realized that this job has made my sense of humor downgrade to the level of a junior high student. Today some of the girls were trying to explain something to me, using a series of gestures, but I couldn't understand. Finally, they drew on the chalkboard... a bug farting. We all had a good laugh. Actually, I don't think my sense of humor ever really progressed pass this point to begin with.
So, did you know? Japanese schools don't have newfangled devices like "insulation" and "heating systems." At least not on Kyushu, because Kyushu is "warm" compared to say, Hokkaido, which get like 50 feet of snow in the winter.
Its still damn cold. I have to wear several layer of pants, socks, coats, and whatnot to keep from freezing. They make the poor elementary school students go to school in short-shorts and polo shirts all year round.
I have not watched any anime, listened to japanese music (intentionally), or eaten any Pocky since coming to Japan. Is that weird? I think since I'm surrounded by japanese all day at work, it makes me want to go home and cling to whatever english I can when I go home. And Pocky just loses its novelty when you can buy it at any store.
But, I have been watching this TV show, Nodame Cantibile, which is on Monday nights at 9:00. Its about a bunch of college music students. Also, its pretty much as close to anime as live action television gets.
