Today was a great day. I got up semi-early to see Grandpa; he was doing well today. Dad and I stayed with him until lunch. At one point Grandpa asked me about my classes for next term and seemed happy and excited about them, especially Greek. He asked about my plans and I said I was probably going to get a doctorate but I wasn't sure what in. ( Read more... )

Yesterday I undertook the duty of baby-sitting Ian while my dad and Debra did their Christmas shopping at the last minute ran errands in town. The Walkers' Christmas party last night was wonderful. Spent the whole day in the kitchen baking, cleaning, and being intermittently cuddled by Catherine. My parents had a great time eating clam chowder and listening to Catherine's Uncle Tom play the pennywhistle. Ian had lots of sugar, played StepMania, and got to poke the fire. This morning, bright and early, I went to visit my grandfather. He's doing very well, especially since we were all pretty scared for him earlier this year when he broke his hip. The meeting with Grandpa went okay. He didn't bring my mom, and in fact only mentioned her once. For all I hear horror stories about him from other family members, he's always been nice to me.
