Dude, why do I never post anymore? Because non-computer life is enjoyable, I guess, which is a good thing. But I do want to keep up with those of you I can't be near, and so I resolve to post more often. And now for a really long post on the amazing action-packed last week or so.
The day after Catherine's birthday, I headed out from Flag. After Catherine came home from work at 8:00 am, Erin took everyone out to a nice breakfast, though I was far too exhausted/nervous/excited to do more than drink my orange juice and listen to the geek girls babble about Michael J. Fox. I really will miss Erin and Amber as well as Catherine. They're delightful conversationalists, and I approve of their housekeeping as well. And their rats are adorable. I'll miss Arizona, too. I got rather nostalgic during the shuttle ride down to Phoenix, as we passed quickly from mountain pines to mighty saguaros.
Gray met me at the airport and took me to her house to meet her cats and pygmy goats, and then we went to a cute little coffeeshop and talked for literally hours about literature and religion. It was just as natural talking to her in person as online, and it's always a pleasure to find someone with whom you can discuss important things. I have a feeling if we'd lived closer, we would have hung out a lot and been close friends by now. Gray is a very good listener, and I always felt she was trying to understand me even when she totally disagreed, which I find refreshing and also indicative of her own conviction in her opinions. Ironically enough, I often felt that we were arguing for the same things but for different reasons. We both hold individuality and enjoyment of life as high goods, although I would say that God helps me celebrate these things, whereas she... wouldn't, I guess. We talked a lot about Blake's concept of good "needing" evil, yin and yang, and even Good Omens... I couldn't help thinking that we were like Aziraphale and Crowley, on "different sides" if you will, but enjoying each other's company immensely. I hope to repeat the experience sometime.
But I hope not to repeat the experience of my plane ride to Oregon, which dropped me off at 3:00 a.m. instead of 10:00 p.m. But now I'm here, and here to stay for the forseeable future, which is a good thing! It's been a bit intense getting acclimated to life with Buzzy's family while trying to find a job and an apartment (no word, as of this writing, on whether I got the one I interviewed for), but I do enjoy everyone's company here, and we've had a lot of fun. Just in the last week, I've FINALLY visited the amazing

, learned several new games, ate blueberries from a bush in Buzzy's old yard, walked the dog in lovely places, played with the kitties in the sunshine, watched a bellydance performance (and I may be getting private lessons!), and much more... Yep, the days are just packed.
