wow...i just realized that i now look a lot more like my avatar icon...weirdass.
yesterday was interesting...when i left for work, minutes after the update i made here, i didn't expect to have such good luck since i was off to be the aquarium's bitch. i got off the bus and promptly ran into chris maslen, one of sean's friends from high school who i adored. he gave me a big hug and we walked around pike place for a while, catching up before we both had to be other places. he's doing really well -- writing a screenplay and getting a movie deal (maybe?), and we vowed to hang out soon. it's so nice to run into the people from your past lives that you actually give a damn about.
the aquarium event was alright...their beer tap was broken, so i came to the rescue, pulled a few strings, and got the pike brewery to lend us one for the evening, and so i saved the night. all because of beer. i also met the parents of one of the girls i was an ra for at pitzer (lynn trickey)...those girls have been on my mind for quite a while...most of them will be graduating this weekend and i want to see them so badly, but alas. an aquarium bitch i'll be until emp calls and offers me way too much money to do exactly what i want to be doing. i'm so proud of my pitzer girls (and a few boys)...i hope i get a chance to let them know how much they meant to me.
after the event, i went up to kells irish pub to see a couple of folk singers and meet up with dominic and the boys. while i was waiting, i started sketching one of the singers...something i haven't done in a long time. i've been so busy lately that i haven't had time to draw, let alone find the inspiration...it came out pretty well. i should practice more. i heart drawing. then i worked on some ideas for emp's traveling exhibits, but digressed into laying out the synopsis for my underground city guides/zines (see next post). kerrick and joel were really great to talk to, and i am finding that even if things totally slow down with dominic, i could definitely still be friends with them all. yay new friends.
i'm seeing them all tonight at karaoke...but first...gotta get back to work. mmm...gonna grill tonight for dinner!
