Brain-Sucking Jellyfish Chapeau

I don't know what it is with my relations and peculiar purple accessories. I mean, yes, I like purple. I wear a fair bit of purple. I wear some accessories (mostly shrugs. Yet, for some reason, I do not yet own a purple shrug). But people on both sides of my family seem to enjoy giving me bizarre purple accessories that I don't know how to wear.

First, there was the muppet-tails scarf. That came from someone on my mom's side, possibly my mom.

Now, courtesy of my step mother, I bring you ...

Yep.

It's a knitted brain jellyfish.

In other words, this may be that rare specimen, a hat that I don't know how to pull off.

So, I ask you, friends and acquaintances, how does one wear such a garment? I mean, on one's head, clearly. But beyond that?

I don't think this is a good look for me.

Generally with berets, which I wear a lot, I sort of affect a vaguely French look, with the beret slouched over to the side. I tried that here:

But I'm just not sure.

Maybe on the back of the head?

Perhaps I have finally met the hat that will defeat me.
