Some of you have heard this already, but here is where I'm going to be, next week, and what I'm going to be doing.
Saturday: I take my bike apart and put it in a box. The bike and I fly to Ottawa, where I reassemble it, and ride off in search of cute redheaded NDP members. At some point I find Audra, and we hang out.
Sunday: Hang out with Audra. Make pancakes. Maybe see other Ottawa peeps.*
Monday, or maybe Tuesday: Leave Ottawa on bike. Ride to Perth, Ontario. Find a place to stay-preferably one that is neither an icky motel nor a B&B geared towards couples. Avoid getting squashed.
Tuesday, or maybe Wednesday: Leave Perth on Bike. Ride to Kingston,Ontario. Continue to avoid getting squashed. Also avoid dehydration. Avail self of gracious hospitality of
neeuqdrazil 's folks.
Wednesday, or maybe Thursday: Leave Kingston, on Bike. Ride to Prince Edward County. Avoid getting squashed, dehydrated, or eaten by hungry seagull. Maybe stay with Editorial Big Sister in Picton. Maybe stay with Aunt and Uncle in Belleville.
Thursday, or possibly Friday: Ride bike from Picton/Belleville to Bowmanville, thence to Newcastle. By this point, I should be expert at not getting squashed. So I shall continue to avoid doing so. Or dehydrated. Or eaten by seagulls. Or sunburned. Visit Grandmom. Use Grandmom's shower. Do not bring coals Find GO station, and put self and bike on first available GO bus bound for Toronto. Alternatively, arrange with Mom to come get me at Grandmom's house.
Friday, or possibly Saturday: Get a pedicure. Meet Bad-Tempered Goddess to go wedding-dress shopping with her.**
I have a freshly tuned bike. I have cycling clothes. I have SPF-60 sunscreen. I have waterproof panniers. I have a helmet and gloves. I have prescription sunglasses. I have a complete set of bike tools, patch kit, spare inner tube, and pump all bundled in a bag. I have downloaded several guides to routes, and will buy a map. I have a credit card and a cellphone. I have a cute cycling top.
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?????
* If you are an Ottawa person, and you wish to hang out, and you won't be in Montreal or some other place on Sunday, you should let me know.
** For a dress for her. Not me.***
