It's that time of year again! The Toronto Choral Society (in which the lovely
neeuqdrazil and I are both members) will fill the air with carols of seasonal joy and celebration.
Yes, I'm shilling tickets to my choir's Christmas concert.
When? Wednesday evening, December 17, 7:30 p.m.
Where? Eastminster United Church, 310 Danforth Ave., Toronto
What? A Celtic Christmas, featuring Celtic (but no Manx) music and Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols (bizarrely arranged for SATB chorus)
Who? The Toronto Choral Society, conducted by Geoffrey Butler, accompanied by William o'Meara, with special guest artists: Sharlene Wallace - harpist, Loretto Reid - flute and whistle player, and Jonathan Lynn - storyteller. Also,
neeuqdrazil and yours truly will be buried deep in the chorus
How Much? Tickets are $20 if you buy them from me or
neeuqdrazil in advance; $21 if you
buy them online, and $25 if you are disorganized and buy them at the door.
Why? We're a choir. Seasonal concerts are What We Do. Apparently we received funding for this one, hence the choice of programme. ... Oh! You mean Why would I want to go? I dunno! Maybe you like Seasonal Music? (
curgoth, this may be the gloomiest Christmas music programme you'll ever hear a choir perform. I'm just sayin') Maybe you like harps? Maybe you want to sit in the audience and make funny faces at me? Maybe you want to see if I'll wear That Skirt?
And if you can't attend that concert, but still want to hear us sing, you can attend one of two other performances.
