I got a bit of cash for christmas so I finally went thrifting last week and got some jeans and lots of shirts that fit me. Also a pair of black ballet flats, and Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. I got two blank journals for my friend Joanna and spent New Year's Eve drinking cheap champagne and collaging the front and back of one -- it was hideous, but I had to buy it bc it had pressed flowers inside.
Joanna is moving to Exeter in two and a half weeks. Her husband has a job there. They're going to be in England for at least six months and then probably in France for at least another six. She's the closest friend I have locally and I'm going to miss her a lot. We usually see each other every week. I don't see anyone else that often, aside from Sid and Curtis.
I've had a cold the last few days; I think it's almost done now though. I've been taking lots of vitamins, drinking tea and cocoa, sometimes with liquor, eating chicken soup with curry powder, and today Curtis brought home a bunch of garlic.
I want to go to Victoria's Secret to get new bras, now that Sid is no longer nursing, and then to Smith Family Bookstore to get Her Fearful Symmetry. Im reading it with Julia and some people off tumblr. It's the first time I've been in a bookclub kind of thing, and I wonder how it will go, as they all seem to like Jane Austen and Neil Gaiman and I find them both boring and overrated. I recently read on Wikipedia that Gaiman was raised a Scientologist and I thought, Maybe that's the problem, then. ~judgmental~
It's clear and beautiful here, but very cold and icy. The paper keeps predicting snow for Wednesday. I don't believe it.
