Flight Fare Price Gauging

Aug 04, 2012 11:02

To save my mother money on her upcoming trip, I tried to take advantage of a one-day sale on round trip flights on certain dates in September and October that a popular airline was offering online yesterday evening. However the benefits of the sale were quickly ruined because the website began to raise the prices of the fares every hour. As such a one-way trip went from $115 to $254 in about three hours. This ruined the savings for anyone (like me) making a one-way trip along with someone making a round trip. My mother told me to just give up and check back this morning. The airline had brought the prices back down to their normal fare causing my mother to save $40 and I to save waste $40. Isn't that trip?
