I just had a conversation with my co-worker M about the appeal of Hawaii Five-0. It went something like this.
M: "I'm so tired when I get home from work so I don't think I've managed to watch an entire episode yet."
Me: "What, how can you not stay awake for it? Alex O'Loughlin takes his shirt off all the time!"
M: *heartbroken* "I know!"
steve should always be shirtless,
work things,
o'lough love

D and I haven't caught up on *any* of our shows and we lost a bunch when the derecho took out his TiVo and all the recorded stuff with it. He seems to have lost interest in all our old shows too, so I am scrambling to find alternate sources. Thank goodness someone gave me an Amazon gift certificate--that let me buy S1 of Person of Interest--I'd lost everything after episode 9...
NTS: Don't let your shows back up on your recorder or you will probably never get to see them. :-(

There are so many of my old shows I have yet to catch up on, and even more that I've given up on completely. It might be time to decide which ones are actually worth my energy...

I don't mind when he wants to watch soccer, or Anthony Bourdain, or Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe because it lets me do what I need to do on the internet without guilt. But now I'm having to find other ways to find those three shows, and it usually means waiting for them or paying for them. :-(
I'm so far behind on some I don't mind waiting for them to come out on Netflix--but the Netflix is at his house too. :-) Truthfully, when I'm at home alone, I'm usually *trying* to write, so even getting the free version of Netflix seems like a waste of time....
Like you, it makes me re-evaluate what I really need/want to watch these days...

Right now, I'm having a phase where I feel like a complete waste of space if I don't do worthwhile and productive things all the time so I've taken up knitting again as an excuse so sit around and watch shows. (You wouldn't be in need of a knitted scarf or five?)

I'm a fine one to talk, I know.
I have all the scarves I can use, but last year melagan made me a set of fingerless mittens so I could type at the keyboard when it was freezing inside my little house (which is most of the winter). I love them, but if you want a project, I could use a second set so I can lovingly wash the first in Woolite when they get grubby and still have a clean dry set with which to type. Yes, it *always comes down to the typing, doesn't it? :-)

Knitting actually helps, believe it or not. It's something I enjoy, and it's actually very restful in itself, plus it counts as creative, so, win all around! (Or, at least better than going on week-long redecorating frenzies that leave me exhausted and the house in a mess...) Thanks for looking out for me though!
