That moment you realize all the shows you've caught up on during Post-Election Haze are kicking ass. And the only one you did bother to keep up on...has quickly dissolved into a friggin mess by comparison.
SPN, we need to talk...
(
Status with me and SPN S8, 7 eps in... )
I know, realizing I *should* have downgraded it to "when I have time" after catching up on this season on other shows that have proved themselves far more, was a sad thing to admit. I think it's harder when you get a glimpse, like that little SamnDean scene last week, just a little reminder that they have these actors for 41 odd minutes every week and we haven't gotten more than five meaningful minutes between them in the last month.
Revolution, I said I'd give until ep nine, since it took that long for SPN to really get it's hooks in me too. I'm pretty sure I'm in for the season after this week, everything all just feels so KRIPKE, part of me might be watching it for SPN nostalgia but I'm not sure I care. The man can't plot ep to ep to save his life but emotional cores, man, he can still hit it home hard. If you just admit, sure there will be some stupid but the commitment to the simple idea, the feel of the world, and the characters are what make you stick around, it's kinda a joy. In that way it reminds me of a style I loved on SPN. And maybe what I miss now. (Although Carver hit it in the first three! *sigh*)
