SPN 8.02 & Biden Debate
Mmmm. More SPN thinky thought meta-y goodness. Thanks ever so, especially to Dabb & Laughlin for sucking way less than they have in...uh, ever? (They almost completely contained their fratboy humor! If Carver can achieve THAT, that IS something!) I was filled to the brim with meta thoughts post-premiere, I couldn't get to sorting it all out for this week, but thankfully this ep only threw in some more firewood into the bonfire so, definitely getting knocked out before next week. My brain needs emptying! Little less on my liking this week, lotsa plot, where I tap my toes for character stuff, but eh, still not as horrible as I braced myself for. The Dean PTSD flashbacks were actually quite well done (although I gotta say, still alittle gunshy about it after the totally unresolved Dean arc last season, so I'm trying to keep my distance. My heart can't take that kind of disappointment.) And like I said as long as the meta lines keep going, it feels well-planned, so I'm pleased and content. LOVED Lauren Tom. And Kevin's continuing to rock it, like I always knew he could, and acting as a Sam shadow in a really neat way, so while I would have wished for more Sam, alot of his lines were drawn in contrast to Kevin, especially in relation to his challenges to Dean. So that was extra meaty just like I like. And it looks like next week, we'll dive back into bro issues? YES YES, PLEASE?????

I *DID* tell SPN last week, it's allowed to suck for a couple weeks as long as Obama gets his mojo back next two debates. Since apparently life isn't allowing me to have good politics week AND a good SPN week. And when it comes to SPN, show's got a whole season to improve, but Obama's got to win this thing in less than a month or I'm on a jetplane outta this country. (Volunteer! Phonebank! Canvass! If not for Obama, then for a demo Senate or Congressional campaign, we need those votes! And asskick those obstructionists back to the moon where they came from!)
