When I got a job, I figured it would just be something to pass the time and that I could get money from. But it turns out, I actually really like working! I opened today (so there at 7am), and there were only like 3 customers until about 8:30 (the store actually opened at 7:30), so I basically just hung out with the other people that worked there, and we were goofing around and stuff. Anyway, it was fun! And then I learned how to work the register. So now, I'm basically a pro dish cleaning-smoothie making-register running Jamba Juice employee. I don't think I get my first paycheck for like another week though, because I came in the middle of their pay cycle. But...that means it's going to be a fatty check!
And speaking of jobs, I'M GOING BACK TO SKYLAKE ON STAFF THIS SUMMER!!! When I say I've been dreaming of being a counselor since I started being a camper, I'm not even kidding. Seriously. And the first time I went to Skylake was 7 years ago. The only problem is that staff training starts on June 10th, and we don't graduate until the 12th. I talked to the owner and he said that as long as I'm up there and ready to go on the morning of the 13th that's fine, provided I come to extra training May 27-28. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do yet, but theoretically it's possible to skip walking at graduation (don't freak out everyone, I said THEORETICALLY). I'm so excited though...al;ijdf;laksjd!
I watched my bro's roller hockey team play tonight, and they were actually pretty good! It's technically a school team (LAHS Roller Hockey), and they compete in a brand new sports complex, the hockey section of which is run by Rollin' Ice. The place was so nice...kind of cold, and the restaurant wasn't finished so I there were no snacks (read: :( ), but it was still pretty cool. And there were like 6 other high school teams there at the same time, because Rollin' Ice runs 3 rinks at once. There for sure was Los Gatos, Mountain View, LAHS, Santa Teresa (apparantly it's in San Jose, where the rinks are), a team whose mascot was the mustangs (but not Homestead), and a bunch of others. Who would've figured?
Ahhh so tired. Basically I worked from 7-12, went to the barn at 12:30, had a lesson, hacked another horse, came home and watched a little TV, then went to my bro's hockey game and dinner. And then I went running a few minutes ago. Whee! My lesson was interesting today...Harrold's been stopping a lot lately (partly my fault, partly his), and Tracy got on him for the first time in like 4 years today. Needless to say, he was awesome once I got back on! But no matter how many times he stops I still look at his cute face and then can't be mad anymore...and he knows it :)
And for the record: Catch 22 is on crack.
