Yesterday was Scott's and my three month "anniversary". (at some point I will stop counting). We had lunch with his mom and dinner at Brick road pizza (they have fake meats...mmm). It has been hard for me to adjust to being away from California and my social circle I'm comfortable with, but at least the adjustment to being married/living together has been easy. I only wish we got to see each other more and he didn't have such a stupid work schedule, but that is not going to change unless one of the first shift supervisors at his company is fired, quits or retires. So, not any time soon.

I taught Banjo how to shake and lie down this week. He knows lots of party tricks now, yet remains stubborn on the "don't chase the cat" trick. Sigh. Puppy watching now takes every moment of my life and I can no longer read books, watch movies or sleep unless he is also sleeping. We are having a fence put in this week and you don't even want to know how much that costs. Dogs!!! Fortunately, male vizslas are considered adults when they are four years old, so I only have three years and eight months of hell awaiting me.

One thing that was cool was that when I mentioned to Banjo's breeder that he'd had parasites (I wanted her to know so she could treat her other dogs if necessary) she immediately offered to pay for half the vet bills. I told her we would appreciate it but weren't expecting it and told her what it cost. Then she sent me a check for the FULL amount. I was impressed! When we got Abby we got stuck with hundreds of dollars of vet bills from various parasites she'd had in foster care that they didn't divulge so this was nice. (I do think that obviously taking care of a pet is a lifelong commitment and this is only a small investment in taking care of them but it sucks when you have problems right off the bat).

One other funny thing I didn't mention - they really want to convince us to SHOW Banjo (her daughter will do it for free) I guess it could be sort of fun, In a scary way (we recently rewatched Best in Show). The only thing is it would Mean keeping him intact for longer than I want. Meaning no dog park, doggie day care, etc. Scott said "maybe then we could stud him out and make sweet dough" but that also seems creepy.
