Next week is Scott's and my anniversary, so we are celebrating with a long weekend together (it's my turn to go there). Because it's a special occasion and all, we decided to go to Saugatuck for a couple days, which I'm pretty sure is not a prime vacation destination for anyone who's not going to a film festival or old, but it's kind of our "special place" and it's got dunes and trails and good swimming and Mack Island fudge and all the things we love, not too far from home. We selected a nice hotel based partly on the amenities it offers, namely a private beach (it's situated right on the shore) and complimentary bike and kayak rentals. We were really looking forward to 2 days of outdoor fun, so of course the forecast now has thunderstorms all weekend. OF COURSE.
Oh well, I'm sure we'll still have fun. I suppose it is kind of hilarious.
