Dealing with computers is a lot like that book "If you give a mouse a cookie."
If you want to share files, then you need to set up a file sharing server.
If you want to save time setting up the server, you need to use your config files from the last time you set up the server.
If you want those files on the computer, you need to get them from your backups on the external hard drive.
If you want to mount your external hard drive, you need to install ntfs reading software.
If you want to install software, you need to be able to connect to a repository server.
And so on. It hasn't cycled around.. yet. It's actually a bit strange how much I enjoy doing this.
