Session 7, Administrivia

Apr 18, 2014 08:23

Session 7 was unfortunately truncated by some required character advancement functions. We did still manage to make it to Vendaxa, however.

Jo'ness, party of 4, arrived at Vendaxa in her limosine after a quick jaunt down the interstellar hyperspace byway. When they arrived, they were treated to the sight of an almost virgin planet, lush and green with so much life on the planet that it practically writhed from orbit. A half-dozen larger settlements had cropped up around the planet to cater to the rich-and-powerful 'hunters' and the not-so-rich and foolhardy Hunters who wanted to come here and shoot something dead from the safety of Extreme Range.

One or two orbits around the planet later, the party picked a settlement at random and set down. They seemed stymied for a few minutes until someone (Attonka, I think) remembered that they were actually looking for someone's trail! A greased palm later, they found themselves at the local safari office. Each of the larger settlements had been setup by someone with a big gun and a bit of business sense (as opposed to just a big gun), and were collectively setup to hire out guides familiar with the area and the beasts around it. Over the years, most of them had adopted all of the successful practices that the others used and had come together to fix prices (the players, of course, didn't know this, but they didn't try to find out either)

The local safari office had no record of Jacob Walsis renting a safari, and no reports of harder-to-kill-than-normal wildlife or strange disappearances. Tu'la'loo was going to show a picture of the BBER from the first tomb, but Attonka put him in a chokehold and took the picture away, explaining that this information could be dangerous to show around. The exchange drew some strange looks from the safari office staff.

Drawing a blank in the first settlement, they lifted off and moved north to the next closest town, Sarkhs' Place. (I'd randomly determined that the second visted town would be the one in question. If I hadn't randomly determined that, it probably would have been the third, because drawing this part out wouldn't have been interesting).

Attonka wasn't too thrilled by the name of the place, knowing that Sarkh was a typical Trandoshan moniker, but was determined to not start a fight. They found the safari office, and this time managed to charm the clerk into letting them see the books for a much lower bribe. Lo and behold, Jacob Walsis had rented a safari 20 months prior! There were some skull emblems next to that entry...and none of the others had them. Hmm. The guide from that trip, LEDO BRAGMAN, was currently available for hire and the party went to chat with him in the watering hole next door...

He was reluctant to talk about the trip initially, but some charming discourse (and more antics involving Tu'la'loo interrupting Bindi right before she said something truly insulting) warmed his disposition a bit.

The next session will detail his story of what happened.
