The Saga Continues...

So I called UPS on Monday, after checking online and seeing that my package had gotten to Tallahassee at 4:46 am and was put on a truck at 4:47 am. So I call at 9:55 am and am told that the national UPS people will send a message to the people in Tallahassee to tell the driver to NOT deliver the package and to send it to me. I was told that I would be called back "within the hour" by Tallahassee to tell me more of what they are going to do. At 3:30, they had not called, so I called national UPS back. I was told that according to their computer system, a message had indeed been sent to the driver to NOT deliver the package. Everything should have been fine. I figured they would need a couple days to get it here.

Which brings us to today. I haven't gotten the package, though I was thinking it might just come later today, and maybe I should check online and see if they had continued to update the tracking on the package. They had. The package was delivered at 7:17 pm on Monday. 4+ hours after the guy got a message to NOT deliver the package, he delivers it. How often do these guys check their messages???? So I have called national UPS again, and after explaining the whole thing, a message was sent to Tallahassee to pick the package BACK up- and they should be calling me "within one hour" to tell me more details about what they are going to do.

Now, one can only be so mad. The whole situation is indeed my fault, and they don't have to have a system to fix my error at all. I could have to track down the people in my old house myself and beg them to ship me my book- and I might have to do that anyway. But I did all I could to prevent this once my package was shipped. I called the shipping company, did what they told me to do in waiting until Monday, and believed them when they said it would be ok. As far as I'm concerned, it was something on their end that broke down in Tallahassee when my package was delivered. Until then, they were helping me. Now they are trying to fix their mistake, in my mind at least.
