SGA review 3x17: Infection
Spoilers:
When I saw the title I cringed. I thought that would be again some sickness that would befall the crew one by one. This topic is so often done in Sci Fi and I really hate them (except maybe in Supernatural when Dean gets "ghost sickness" and scares easily, he, he) So I was relieved that it was just the Wraith who were infected.
-The beginning was all so predictable. It was great to see John in the chair again, knowing that Atlantis was in safe hands. But of course he didn't have to fire. And the crew was not able to see what the "corrupted" file and the appearance of the Wraith ship meant? It was all constructed so they *had* to go off with the puddle jumper and check out the Wraith ship, which was, to nobody's surprise, gave off no lifesigns.
-But at least: Todd is back!!! I'm thinking that in this one, he will bite it.
-So, now they are running forth and back in a Wraith ship. I always love those sets! So what happens next is a little bit of hide and seek, which is not that interesting. They finally wake up Todd, to fix the ship. I figured as soon as I saw that big hole that cut them off from the darth bay, that the ship was sick. So the humans are not the only one who have trouble firewalling their computers, he, he.
-The interesting part started, when Sheppard was killing off the wraith crew and when Todd and Sheppard had their argument. Wow, that was dramatic. I loved it how Sheppard cooly states: I don't owe you anything. Reminded me of "Common ground", when he said, when they meet again, all bets would be off.
- love the special effects of the Wraith ship breaking apart and then crashing on the water. And it was great to hear John bluff: believe me, I've done this before (crashing a ship to the planet).
-best line: The IOA can sue me.
-Sheppard and Woolsey granting Todd passage to the Iratus bug planet. Again, as in Common Ground. I really thought Todd would not survive. I mean, we only have 3 episodes left, it would have been cool to make a final showdown between Todd and Sheppard. But on the other hand, maybe they are saving it for a movie. I am not spoilt for the finale, so I don't know whether Todd will play some role there.
