My pussycat got a death sentence today. My lil' girl was diagniosed w/ Lukemia this afternoon. She'd been acting strange for the last few weeks: not eating, not drinking. She's dehydrated. ...I have an old kitty too. He's 16 right now, and he also lost lots of weight and wouldn't eat. Of course I freaked out and took him to the vet, and she did all sorts of tests and re-hydrated him with an IV (which kept slipping out) and gave me some antibiotics for him. He seems better now, but I know the day will come soon when I will probably have to do the same thing you're doing, and I feel for you. I've imagined in my mind several times how I'd feel when I had to put my cat down. I mean, damn, dude, this cat GREW UP with me. I'm sure you feel something similar, with your cat. The only positive thing I always came around to, when thinking about what might happen, is that at least I would get to say goodbye. When you take your cat in, don't worry about being strong, just let the tears flow. I know that's not much comfort, but know your cats suffering will have ended, and I want you to know that someone out there is thinking of you, Darren. Best of luck through this difficult time.
