my most interesting entry yet!
Hey! OK, you know what? I'm gonna tell you about ME. I'm 14, and I'll be a freshman next year (even though I'm homeschooled). That's CRAZY. Seriously. I mean, when you're a little kid, especially when you're in lower elementary, you think that you'll never get to MIDDLE SCHOOL much less high school! lol! It just seems like high school will NEVER come around, then all of a sudden you wake up and there you are! I'm telling you, life just goes by too fast, but then again it seems it doesn't go by fast enough. You can't wait to be 5 so you can go to the real "big kid" school. You can't wait to get to middle school. You can't wait to be 13, because that's when you officially become a teen. You can't wait until you start high school. You can't wait to turn 16 and get your driver's license (that's currently where I'm at. lol). You can't wait to graduate. You can't wait to turn 18 because then you're an adult (except you're not legal. I never understood that). You can't wait to turn 21 because then you're a LEGAL adult. Then you dread turning 30. You dread turning 40. And on and on and on. We're never satisfied, are we??? I guess that's one reason I can't wait to get to heaven. Total satisfaction, because it's total perfection. Anyways, I am seriously off the subject. Back to ME. (lol) As I mentioned before, I'm homeschooled. I have been since 3rd grade. OK, can I clarify something for all you non-homeschoolers??? I'm sure a lot of you assume we have no social life to speak of. That is SO not true. I have TONS of friends, homeschoolers & public schoolers alike. People don't realize that there ARE awesome homeschool groups out there to get involved in. Like SVCHE. That was the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you guys so much!!! But yeah, homeschooling is awesome! Ummm...something else about me...hmmmm...OK, I LOVE LOVE LOVE music!!! I love to sing, and I also love listening to music. I like all kinds of music--pop, rock, R&B, whatever. I don't really like rap that much though...I like some okay. But I really watch the lyrics of my music. I mostly listen to Christian (and if you don't, you should give it a try! You can get Christian music in EVERY style of music. I mean it! Everything from jazz to metal to country to pop and everything in between!) but I like secular too, as long as the lyrics are totally clean (no cussing, sex, drugs, or whatever). My favorite groups are Switchfoot and Superchic[k]--2 totally awesome Christian rock bands! Somehow, that reminded me of Brio. Brio is this AWESOME magazine for Christian teen girls. (www.briomag.com) It covers everything from advice, to fashion, from music, to food! lol. It rocks. Now...for the number one thing in my life. It's the thing that defines who I am. It defines ME. It's...MY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!!! God is so cool. People think He's up somewhere in the sky waiting to strike them with lightning if they do something wrong. But in reality, He's right there beside you 24/7/365 (or 366, depending on the year) and He's so loving and understanding. And when you pray, it's not like you have to talk in some Old English language or something ("Oh God, Thou art highest above in the heavens..." and that made absolutely no sense, but you get the idea). I just talk to Him like I would my best friend (well, He IS my best friend, but you know what I mean). And you know what? He talks back to me! We have conversations all the time. OK, no I don't hear His voice audibly or anything, but I can feel what He's saying to me. And let me tell you, God has an incredible sense of humor. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!!
