If you don't want to know,
It was awesome. I heard it was balls, so I was totally leery and didn't think it'd be all that great, but it totally was.
Harrison Ford is still sexy and awesome after all these years. Even Shia TheCow couldn't annoy me enough to make me dislike this movie.
It wasn't as good as Raiders or Last Crusade obviously, but it was still pretty rad. I wasn't sure if I'd like it being set in the 50s, with Russian commies as the bad guys instead of Nazis, but it all worked. It managed to still have that same awesome Indy feel to it, even though it was set in a different time.
I expected to hate the whole 'Shia is Indy's son' thing, but it wasn't so bad at all. It worked for me. It wasn't all "omgz I love you my long lost son/father", it was too kickass to dwell on that.
Cate Blanchett was a pretty decent villain, although her death scene wasn't as cool as it could have been. At other points in the movie, people are eaten by fire ants and roasted alive by a carbine jet engine thingie. Those were wicked deaths.
Also, I wish the aliens had been designed in a less stereotypical way- they looked like all reticulans are imagined to look- but I didn't hate the whole alien plotline, as I thought I would. All in all it was a funny, action-packed, generally good movie. I'd totally watch it again... and now I'm craving more Indy action so I'll have to rewatch the original trilogy! YAY!
*hums the Indiana Jones theme song*
Tonight Malcolm is off to D&D so I'm heading to a party that my friend Alicia (from work) is throwing. Should be good times. Amber (my car) is insured and good to go,so I'm gonna drive into town. This means I can't drink much at all, but oh well. Should still be fun! Yay.
